Our client from the packaging industry in Portadown who are committed to innovation and excellence are on the lookout for a dynamic and strategic Group Buyer to join the Senior team in a newly created role. In this role, you will have the chance to make a significant impact on supply chain operations, driving cost savings and ensuring the highest quality of materials.

You will be working as part of the Senior Management team. 

Primarily focused on procurement and supplier management you will deals specifically with purchasing and supply chain aspects. Emphasis negotiation, supplier relations, and cost management within the FMCG industry

Your contributions will play a critical role in maintaining the client’s reputation for supplying superior products and delivering them on time to valued customers.

Some of the duties will include:

·       Developing, leading, and executing purchasing strategies

·       Tracking and reporting KPIs to reduce expenses, improve effectiveness and mitigate risks.

·       Crafting negotiation strategies and closing deals.

·       Forecast key prices and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.

·       Perform cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking.

·       Source and partner with reliable vendors / suppliers.

·       Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.

You will be required to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or similar relevant field preferred
  • At least 5yrs relevant experience
  • Extensive experience in procuring outside UK.

  • Previous experience in the fmcg field with demonstrable management experience
  • Assertive with strong communication skills
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Extensive field knowledge
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to direct others according to company standards.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Please note there could be minimal travel to our client’s site in UK at times that will be so some flexibility in travel will be required

Excellent salary available depending on experience

Mon-Fri 8.30am-5.30pm office based
