As the head of design in a growing construction company specialising in Facade design on large scale projects, your role will be to oversee and manage the design process from conception to completion, which is critical for company success.

The role:

You’ll be responsible for mentoring and managing a team of designers, ensuring that they are motivated, working efficiently and producing high-quality designs.

You will lead the design team in developing design concepts that meet the project requirements, functional needs, and aesthetic goals. You will also ensure that the design is feasible, cost-effective, delivered on time and complies with relevant regulations and standards.

You’ll be responsible for conducting research and analysis to support the design process, such as studying site conditions, analysing environmental factors, and researching materials and technologies.

You will oversee the creation of detailed design documentation, such as drawings, specifications, and schedules. You will also ensure that the documentation is accurate, complete, and meets the project requirements.

What you’ll have:

You’ll be an experienced senior designer with at least 5 years’ experience in cladding or glazing or have a degree, HND or architectural technology with at least 3 years’ experience.

You’ll also be a whizz on AutoCAD, Revit and have an interest in BIM & what it means to the industry.
